ALBUM REVIEW: VEGA INTL. NIGHT SCHOOL – NEON INDIAN LABEL: TRANSGRESSIVE RECORDS RELEASED: OCTOBER 16, 2015 REVIEWER:  HAYLEY SIGRIST                   RATING: 4 STARS It’s been Two years without so much as a synth wave from artist Alan Polomo, the voice and funk of American electro band Neon Indian. He’s back now, and he wants you to know about it. The long awaited return brings with it Neon Indian’s Fourth studio album Vega INTL. Night School., which mixes Alternative Dance and Synthpop, creating a whole new blend of dance tracks. The album's second track ‘ Annie ’ chills the hell out, mixing some pretty prominent sine waves with an almost Reggae percussion pattern, making it sound like something straight from the mixtape of somewhere alternative and exotic (like, a place with Pina Coladas and speedos, you know what I mean.) ‘ Slumlord ,’ a particular highlight off...

Kassassin Street - Yeah It's On

By  Hayley Sigrist You know that sexy, succulent bass line Kasabian can achieve, and those half spoken, half sang lyrics from 90’s gods like Ian Brown and Liam Gallagher? Imagine both of those things, smashed together and painted in bright metallics and pinks. That’s kind of what you’re getting from Kassassin Street. The Portsmouth boy’s recent single ‘ Yeah It’s On’ toys with distorted guitars and wicked feedback, rumbling over soft, ambient lyrics that reach full potential in the singles chorus line.
