It’s the duos second collaboration since ‘Mine’ from Beyoncé’s self-titled album in 2013, but don’t be fooled. It’s far from a duet.
Beyonce chants monotonically over Drizzy’s love-struck lyrics, as the track moves slowly through sultry bass and sustained synths. Sal Houdini also makes an appearance, offering a spoken inner monologue that ties in nicely. At a mere 2 minutes, the song feels more of an interlude than a full single, but a pretty powerful interlude at that.
Overall, the track works, but it’s not what everyone was expecting... especially from the absolute diva that is Queen B.
